Mateen Cleaves Is Going Into The Michigan State University Athletics Hall of Fame

Mateen Cleaves, will be inducted into the Michigan State University Athletics Hall of Fame on Thursday, September 22. The Flint, Michigan native lead MSU men’s basketball team to a NCAA tournament title in 2000. Cleaves was twice named Big Ten Player of the Year during his three years at MSU. He led the Spartans along with the Big Ten in career assists with 816, and is Michigan State’s all-time leader in steals with 193. Cleaves is also one of just eight players at MSU to have his number (12) retired.
